Government reinstated the Electricity Connections Policy after its suspension due to the disruptions caused by COVID-19. The policy which aims to connect 300,000 households annually to the national grid will drastically increase the share of the population with access to electricity to 60% by 2026. In turn, this is envisaged to contribute to household incomes and spurring economic activities resulting from the viability of business startups.
